We can (finally) release the conference program for AMPHORAE XIV! Please download the attached PDF.
Thank you to all who answered our survey regarding the options for running AMPHORAE XIV online. The date has been set to the 23rd to the 25th of September, 2020. The conference will be hosted over Zoom. More information will be released in the future about the online features that we will be utilising throughout the conference. A reminder that the call for papers has been extended to the 30th of June. Registration will open from the 25th of May. We thank you for your patience while we adapted to the situation and we look forward to seeing everyone (in one way or another) very soon.
In light of the recent situation, the committee has decided that AMPHORAE XIV 2020 in Adelaide will be postponed to later in the year. Please do not make any travel arrangements to Adelaide at this time. We spent some time discussing what we would do, including the possibility of cancelling entirely, or holding the conference through online platforms. In the end, we decided postponement was the best option. A large benefit of conferences like AMPHORAE is that they allow postgraduates to network and socialise. This is not something we wanted to give up and so postponement was the best option. We do not have a new date yet, but we will post here once we have decided.
Due to this postponement, we are extending the Call for Papers up until June 30. This may be extended once we have decided a new date for the conference, but for now we thought it best to provide a deadline. The travel subsidy application deadline will also be extended. A new deadline for this will be posted once we decide the new dates for the conference. Thank you all for your patience while we address this issue. Please make sure you are taking all necessary steps to keep yourselves and others safe and healthy. We will provide updates as needed on the website. The call for papers is now out for the 14th Annual Meeting for Postgraduates in Hellenic or Roman Antiquities and Egyptology (AMPHORAE), to be held at the University of Adelaide from July 1-4. Abstracts are due the 16th of March and should be sent to [email protected]. Please see the website for more information and to download the abstract cover sheet. The website will be updated with further information closer to the date.
